Battle: LA was an epic alien invasion movie, this movie completely over took Independence day on my list of great alien movies, i'd say this sits 2nd with Forth Kind hitting the top spot!

The movie revolves around one sqaud of soldiers led by Micheal Nantz (Aaron Eckhart, aka TwoFace)
The soldiers are reluctant to work with him as on his last mission he got his whole platoon killed and he was the only survivor!

After a meteor strike is reported to hit different parts of the planet soldiers are prepped for evacuations and support for possible wounded. Just before the soldiers leave they watch the news showing the meteors falling into the ocean all of a sudden dark figures rise from the water and launch rockets onto the beach killing thousands of people!

The soldiers mission is to make their way through enemy territory to secure a rescue for people trapped in a police station close to the beach!

The special effects in this movie were brillaint, the aircraft and all the explosions looked so real and the sound effects were immense! You could really feel what was going on on the screen.

The film was brillaint as it was all about the soldiers view on fighting the war for the planet and it didnt end with a stupid computer virus wiping out the alien race as usual!

They actual get their hands on a dead alien and cut him open to find out his weak spot and know where to aim when coming up against some more!

The aliens werent anything amazing to look at but i think that was the point, they were more advanced than us but still had the same weaknesses!

The acting was top notch as well with all the soldiers acting as a soldier would in a time of panic and fear!

Overall i'd say this movie is by far one of the best i've seen this year, one of the best alien movies i've ever seen and has some of the best special effects i've seen in a movie by far!

Acting: 9/10
Special Effects: 10/10

Overall: 10/10

A Must see for those who love alien movies, great effects and war movies!

Epic review, I'm going to watch this tonight as im ill stuck in bed

I went to see limitless instead of this but really wanna see this now especially after saying its better than independance day which was a totally epic movie

I watched Battle:LA with my brother as he's a movie nut like me and he thought it was better than Independence Day too!

I really advise watching this mate, its a great movie!

Skyline was much like that film 'Knowing' with Nicholas Cage. (cant remeber the last good movie he was in)

Film wasn't great but just about bearable until the ridiculous ending causes you to curse it until you've used every word under the sun!
But if you like Alien Movie's or stories based on real events watch Forth Kind, it leaves you thinking a lot about aliens! Possibly the best movie i saw last year!
