| i love the first shot a lot because the foreground colour is vibrant but the background gets darker and fade into black. |

| Once again mate...... fecking superb shots..... are they with your 50mm EF 1.8???
I'm looking at getting one.
I've also just purchased one of these Canon 55-250mm EF-S f4-5.6 IS from camerabox. My old 70-300mm Sigma has given up and no longer wants to focus.
Fingers x'd it will arrive tomorrow so will add a few more pics.
Cheers

Many thanks for the comment mate <3 Nice ! How much did that cost you? I'm saving for a whole new kit now, new camera body, and two lenses plus another flash, and a new laptop lol, not cheap at all ! I love my 50mm, its my main lens at the moment. Its not what I used for my macro stuff, keep reading, and all will be explained. I'm glad you like the shots mate

Bujj, I miss you, many thanks for the comment I'm glad you like them !
----- My Macro stuff explained. -----Right, well to achieve these macro/close up shots of the moth and flowers, most people would look to spend a few hundred pounds on a dedicated macro lens, for those that dont know what it does, it basically zooms into the subject to give a 1:1 ratio, so its as life size as you'll ever get, the detail captured is beyond what the human eye can see. I if you have the money I suggest you invest in a macro lens if close up photography is something your interested in, if your like me and dont have the cash to be spending on lenses, buy what is called a Reversing Ring. These are cheap and cheerful, I bought mine for £15 delivered. What does it do?What a reversing ring does, is enable you to attach the lens backwards onto the camera. Great, Now What?Because of the way the lens works with the camera's sensor, everything is backwards, so if your using an 18-55mm Lens, 55mm is now the widest and 18mm is the most zoom. Because the lens is backwards when the you look through the view finder, everything is enlarged and very blurry, this is because all the auto focusing is disabled. How Do I Focus? To focus on a subject, you use what is called the rocking technique, and all you is rock back and forth in front of the subject until its in focus, and there we have it, a cheap and cheerful way to get up close and personal. I've pasted the link to the EXACT reversing ring that I use, its to be used with a CANON LENSES with a DIAMETER of 58mm ONLY ! This can be found on the lens itself, I use this with my Canon 18-55mm Lens and it works fine. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Maxim-Reversing-Cameras-Foto-Supplies/dp/B0036C6A2Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1279233027&sr=1-1 Thanks for reading, I hope it helped, if you have any questions, please ask Sam. |
