Exclusive titles, discounts and cross-game chat all coming to premium Sony service.
Sony’s much-rumoured PSN+ service is due to rock up at this year’s E3, with insiders detailing just what you can expect from the paid for package when it launches later this year.
Word is that punters who stump for PSN+ will get cross-game voice chat, exclusive PSOne and PSP Mini titles, in-game downloadable content and PlayStation Store discounts. There will also be automatic inclusion on the new PlayStation Protection Plan, so your hub is covered in case of damage.
Sony is also said to be working on a cloud-based saving system and auto-patching, which will download firmware tweaks without you having to do a thing.
The cost for all this? A rumoured $9.99 (£6.94) a month. That works out at £84.28 a year, compared to a £39.99 RRP for Xbox Live Gold membership. However, Sony’s service is expected to supplement online gaming, which will remain free for PS3 punters who use the basic PSN.
Sony has said it doesn’t comment on rumours and speculation, but with this many details out, PSN+ is nailed on for E3. Stay tuned for all the news from the LA game shows, which starts on 15 June. |

| yeah i read about this the other day, they wont confirm anything apart that there isnt going to be cross game chat. but the artical said that the you will have a choice to pick 1 of 2 free mini games a month, still sounds like balls and i wont be getting it unless i have to |
